Promise Place is a non-profit that has been serving victims of domestic violence for over 30 years. We are seeking to hire On-Call Shelter Advocates for various shifts (8a-4p, 4p-12a, 12a-8a). On-Call Shelter Advocates must work a minimum of 8 hours per month. We are seeking outgoing and empathetic professionals to add to our staff.
This position is responsible for providing crisis intervention to victims of domestic violence. Responsibilities include admitting and exiting families to and from the shelter; answering a crisis hotline; supervision and interaction with shelter residents; handling any emergency or crisis that may occur; data entry; filling food requests; organizing donations; light housekeeping and other duties as assigned.
Experience working directly with victims of domestic violence or working within a residential setting is preferred. Knowledge of trauma informed principles is preferred. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated ability to handle a crisis situation as well as patience and tolerance for all clients regardless of race, age, religion, sexual preference or financial status.

Qualifications:
- One year experience working with domestic violence survivors. (preferred)

- Ability to handle a crisis situation
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for office area upkeep and housekeeping.
- Maintain and organize food pantry and donation room.
- Answer crisis calls.
- Computer data entry.
Criminal Background Check is required.
