The Artist Lab is a creative Fine Arts studio with an advanced Drawing & Painting Program, Ceramic Sculpture Program, and Mixed Media Programs teaching educational art classes to children to adults. Unlike other traditional art studios, we take a more contemporary approach to diverse art mediums and creating fine art. We strive to offer an unbounded art environment by offering different art mediums and techniques to let students explore, imagine, design, learn, and create. We also have a strong focus on incorporating art history references and introducing the professional and educational art world to our students.
With a successful flagship store located in Irvine, Orange County, we are expanding our team and have opened our second studio in Mid-Wilshire, Los Angeles. Our Fine Art Drawing & Painting Program is looking for an Advanced Drawing & Painting Instructor with a BFA or MFA, talent, a strong art portfolio, and teaching experience. You will be guiding students to choose and create their own concepts for their artworks, help guide students with demo drawings on the side, and help support students to use the right mixed-media to make their artworks most successful based on their skill-level and age. The quality of art here is very high standard and complete work is expected. Students will be using: pencil/graphite, pen/sharpie markers, color-pencils, oil-pastel, water-colors, tempera paint, acrylic paint, and older teens and adults can use oil paint when ready. You need to be familiar or willing to learn all of these mediums. A training period with our Lead Painting Teacher is mandatory and will help you prepare to become a strong art instructor at our studio.
This Artist Instructor needs to have expansive fundamental art and art-history knowledge to teach curriculum & projects to students ages 6-adults. This instructor needs to have strong teaching and public speaking skills to run classes, have professional and strong networking skills to help attract and retain student customer base, and have flexible personality able to engage young children to educating teens and adults. The right enthusiastic candidate will have opportunities to build full classes of enrollment to earn incentive-based commission percentage in addition to hourly base pay.
