Job Title: Registered Nurse
Department: Clinical Services
General Functions: To provide consultation and guidance to staff and participants with regard to health maintenance.
Specific Functions:
- To offer consultation and guidance to Cornerstone Services, Inc. staff with regard to health maintenance concerns for individuals served.
- To offer consultation, guidance and training to staff regarding the overall health maintenance program and Medication Rule 116.
- To offer consultation in the development of program policies and procedures regarding health maintenance issues.
- To provide documentation of consultations with regard to both individual participants and the overall program.
- To monitor the distribution of medications and follow-up on medical problems.
- Participate as an interdisciplinary team member, providing medical input in the Individual Habilitation Plan.
- Participate in Psychiatric Review meetings.
- Provide class instruction through the staff training department.
- Participate, as needed in Risk Management meetings.
Other nursing duties:
- Review self-administration of medication programs.
- Route and track medication errors/drug reactions forms.
- Record monthly weights.
- Complete medical histories.
- Visit homes as per schedule.
- Work with dietician to reinforce diets.
- Assure blood pressures are taken as per physicians' orders.
- Monitor diet orders, assuming the physician has specified diet.
- Monitor medication administration procedures in the homes.
- Confer with physicians and families on an as needed basis.
- Participate in quarterly Pharmacy Review meetings.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
- Maintain ongoing compliance with all agency-related training and certification requirements.
- Respond per established procedures to all emergency situations including medical, behavioral, fire, severe weather, and other hazards.
- Operate agency or personal vehicle in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Own, maintain, and use personal smartphone for company business in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Licensure as a Registered Nurse with six months RN experience, knowledge of Pharmacology. Driving record and auto insurance in accordance with agency policy. A post-offer physical and criminal background check required. Reliable transportation required. EOE.
