Job Summary
The Food Runner is responsible for facilitating collaboration between the kitchen and wait staff. This includes setting tables, delivering food to guests in a timely and efficient manner, and removing used dishes and utensils.
Responsibilities are under the direct supervision of the Restaurant Supervisor and/or the Restaurant Manager.
Qualification Standards
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of progressive experience in a resort, restaurant or related field preferred.
- Must possess a professional presentation.
- Must be bilingual (Spanish & English).
Physical Requirements:
- Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally.
- Ability to stand during entire shift.
- Ability and stamina to carry heavy trays.
- Must be able to spend the majority of the day walking, twisting, bending, pushing/pulling and kneeling.
Duties & Functions: Essential
- Assist the wait staff with table setting by fetching and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils and napkins.
- Serve welcome drinks and hors d’oeuvres, upon guests’ arrival.
- Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards.
- Check in with customers and take additional orders or refill water, as needed.
- Remove dirty dishes and utensils.
- Inform restaurant staff about customers’ feedback or requests.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $5.90 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
