Your Role at Walker
Are you a Deltek or project management software expert who wants to share your knowledge? As a Deltek Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation, customization, and ongoing support of Deltek software solutions within our organization. You will collaborate with various departments to understand business and operational requirements, configure Deltek applications to meet those needs, and provide technical support and training to users. Your role will involve troubleshooting issues, optimizing system performance, identifying automation opportunities, and staying current with Deltek product updates and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Work with Project Managers and Consultants to understand their project management needs and workflows and develop solutions to better utilize the software’s features to support them.
- Develop expert knowledge of the reporting options in the program and work with users to assist with the creation of reports and conduct training of users to do data queries and custom reporting.
- Be capable of creating, through scripting, workflows, and integrations to enhance functionality and streamline processes. Work with users to understand current processes and identify areas to implement automation through workflows and stored procedures.
- Conduct system testing, validation, and user acceptance testing to ensure the quality and accuracy of Deltek upgrades.
- Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and resolve system-related problems in a timely manner.
- Develop and deliver training materials and workshops to educate users on Deltek software functionality and best practices.
- Develop and learn the functionality of the CRM component in Deltek. Based on this knowledge, work with end users to identify the best practices to use for Walker of the CRM features. Develop training and roll out to the company.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and maintain an accurate record of system setup.
- Work with Senior Management to identify enhanced uses of Deltek in Walker.
- Work with users and management to identify companion software and applications that could be used to enhance and improve the processes related to project management and data sharing and reporting.
- Stay abreast of Deltek product updates, patches, and new features, evaluating their potential impact and recommending appropriate actions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience working with Deltek software solutions, including Costpoint, Vision, Vantagepoint, Ajera, or similar project management software products.
- Experience in the Architecture and Engineering field, or similar professional services industries, is a plus.
- Strong understanding of project-based business processes, accounting principles, data analytics and reporting, and financial management.
- Experience in configuring and customizing Deltek (or similar project management software) through administrative tools, scripting languages, and APIs, or add-on software applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues independently.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical users and stakeholders.
- Experience with system testing, validation, and user acceptance testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of database management systems (SQL Server, Oracle) and experience with data migration and integration processes is a plus.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
- This role typically operates in an office environment, with occasional travel required for meetings, training sessions, or system implementations.
A partial work from home schedule is available after initial training and onboarding.
- May require occasional evening or weekend work to accommodate system maintenance, upgrades, or critical issue resolution.
Base salary annually + bonus, depending on experience. Total financial compensation resulting from a performance bonus can increase your earning potential.
