Job Responsibilities:
· Spray chopped fiberglass, resin, and catalyst onto a prepared mold (fiberglass, metal, or wood mold) with pneumatic spray gun(s) with chopper motor attached (chopper-gun).
· Hand-lay precut fiberglass mats, cloth/knitted materials to the correct lamination specifications (laminate schedule).
· Selecting precut fiberglass materials (mats, cloths, knitted), and wood or metal embeds/bracing as required by projects being assembled/laminated.
· Pat or press layers of saturated mat or cloth into place on molds, using brushes, fiberglass rollers, or hands, and smooth out wrinkles and air bubbles with hands or squeegees. Release air bubbles and smooth seams, using rollers.
· Mix catalysts into resins, with the correct measuring tools/devices, and saturate cloth and amts with mixtures- using brushes of squeegees.
· Read and interpret laminate schedules/drawings/schematics.
· Maintain clean and organized working area according to lean manufacturing standards.
· Follow safety procedures and use proper PPE.
