Blackwood Associates is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for one of our local clients, who specialize in large-scale site and civil projects, including excavation, utilities, concrete work, drainage systems, and grading.
Job Description:
As an Assistant Superintendent , you'll play a key role in supporting the execution of our diverse portfolio of projects. Working alongside our experienced team, you'll assist in overseeing all aspects of construction activities, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with 1-5 years of related experience to take their career to the next level.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Superintendent in managing and coordinating large site and civil projects from start to finish, including excavation, utilities installation, concrete pouring, drainage system installation, and grading.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment and adherence to project schedules.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
- Provide leadership and guidance to on-site personnel, including laborers, equipment operators, and subcontractor crews.
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and as-built drawings.
- Support the Superintendent in resolving project-related challenges and maintaining positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
- 1-5 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on site and civil projects.
- Knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and materials related to excavation, utilities, concrete work, drainage systems, and grading.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
