Job Summary:
We are seeking a Prep Cook at our commissary kitchen and also helping us out in different locations on our food truck to work various shifts. Flexible with some prep hours M-F and also on the weekend if preferred. We are looking to grow our operation so would prefer someone willing to grow with us long term.
Duties:
- Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, preparing marinades, filling sauces and other meal prep tasks
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, and organizing supplies
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- If working on the food truck, would like a quick learner, able to be flexible with work shifts, work as cashier or cooking/assembling dishes depending on needs of each shift
Skills:
- Some experience as a Prep Cook or similar role in the food industry
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen setting
- Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
- A team player with good communication skills
- Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency with knives and other kitchen equipment
- Understanding of various cooking methods commonly used in a restaurant or food service setting
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
