Experience is not needed, we can provide the training. Dependability is a must. Our top priority is hiring someone who will treat every animal in our care with compassion. We everyone to be able work as part of the team and also independently when needed. This means you must be a good communicator. Full time position will be required to work 4 days of the week and at least one day of the weekend. Part time would work 2-3 days a week with one of the days be Saturday or Sunday. Holiday times are generally the busier boarding times so candidate must be available for major Holidays
Responsibilities:
Includes but not limited to:
Kennel attendant is to provide constant cleanliness of cages, runs, common areas, and outside area
Provides proper feeding and care of boarding and hospitalized animals
Gives medications directly to animal as prescribed by veterinarian
Gives baths and does whatever minor grooming such as brushing that may be necessary
Feeds animals as prescribed by veterinarian or owner
Recognizes any unusual or abnormal behavior of any hospitalized or boarding animal- for example- diarrhea, vomiting, loss of appetite, seizures etc…
Walks animals several times a day for periods of time that are weather appropriate
Receives animals to be admitted for boarding and/ or bathing and is responsible for making sure the proper identification of the animal is attached to its location with all needed documentation
Releases animals to their owners with all of their belongings
Assists with cleaning of treatment areas, back kennel, and general areas of the hospital
Observes when kennel supplies are running low and informs hospital manager
Takes proper care of equipment associated with kennel and cleaning and informs hospital manager when not working properly
