SUMMARY:
The Night Fleet Manager will be responsible for productively utilizing Dart Express’ resources to attain customer satisfaction and ensure driver profitability through safe operations, prudent load assignments, and planning. This is an in office position.
SCHEDULE:
Sunday - Tuesday and every other Saturday 6:00pm-6:00am
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide consultation and expert advice to management on driver productivity and whether or not Business Operating Agreements should be cancelled or continued
- Recognize positive performance of drivers and ensure that documentation occurs on the performance screen of D4000
- Develop and implement a system of building rapport with drivers that promotes profitability, cost savings, and efficiency
- Regularly negotiate load assignments and plan work accordingly
- Counsel drivers with late deliveries or safety compliance problems
- Identify and coordinate drivers in “no-load” situations-evaluate possible action making the best decision after alternatives are reviewed
- Investigate inactive and under producing drivers, resolve these issues by developing a plan and taking appropriate action
- Communicate special instructions and directions for shipment locations
- Communicate messages via email, telephone, and PeopleNet Devices to drivers
- Monitor driver productivity and days available-take appropriate steps to assure company and driver productivity
- Handle driver issues and complaints
- Ensure load optimization application
- Report O, S, and D (Over, Shortage, and Damage) to the Claims Department-work cooperatively with this issue to assure effective management and resolution
- Proactively support the organization’s goals and objectives
QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma
- The ability to multi-task, work in a fast pace environment, be detail oriented with strong written and oral skills while maintaining effective communication
- The ability to handle stressful situations in a non-confrontational, problem solving manner is required
