The Vision Therapist's role is to facilitate clients to improve their vision skills to allow them to concentrate and attend without mental effort and then, subsequently, to process and understand what is seen. The Vision Therapist works primarily with children who have learning-related difficulties and functional deficits to do with their vision. Approximately 70% of this role will be face-to-face appointments with patients. The other 30% of the role concerns report writing and administrative work surrounding patients' needs.
This is a fast-paced role requiring an individual with the ability to improvise and think on the spot to ensure that each patient's Vision Therapy program is tailored specifically to them and caters to their needs, behaviors, and moods on any given day. Weekly training meetings must be attended for ongoing professional training and support and the successful applicant will work competently in a group setting and independently.
If you are an intelligent, motivated, and driven person with a willingness to learn AND you would like to make a real positive difference in people’s lives, then this role is for you.
