The
Sr. Events Manager oversees 5-10 high-quality fundraising, cultivation, and acquisition events per year as a critical part of Opportunity’s strategy. The role is responsible for designing and producing a wide range of Opportunity’s national events.
RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Oversee the national event strategy for Opportunity’s 5-10 national events.

Develop strategies to increase pre- and post-event engagement of prospects and donors.

Manage and support event logistics and vendors for venues, A/V, caterers, and support staff.

Establish event flows and basic scripting to support the goals of events.

Partner with teammates to produce donor communications and collateral such as invitations, email reminders, and signage for each event.

Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders in private philanthropy, corporate philanthropy, and the CEO office to coordinate events.

Manage registration process and maintain updated donor records in database.

Run event planning meetings and coordinate with internal key stakeholders throughout the planning process

Manage the event budget, track expenses, and process expenses.

Produce post-event reporting, evaluations, and learnings.

Serve as primary on-site day-of event manager.

Manage volunteer/contract staffing as needed

Handle the logistics for talent, including international visitors (booking flights, hotels, etc.).

Provide occasional support to the Events Manager in the execution of smaller regional events as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS-
Bachelor’s degree.

7-10 years of experience in planning major events.
-
3-5 years of experience within a nonprofit is required.

Experience running virtual events is a plus.

Experience effectively managing budgets and expenses.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Suite.

Experience working with CRM systems and online event platforms.

A motivated self-starter.

Organized, creative, strategic thinker.

Ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously.

Comfortable customizing some events for a Christian audience and working in an environment that welcomes expressions of faith.

An understanding of and a commitment to advancing the mission and values of Opportunity International.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Written and verbal fluency in English required.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Potential for domestic travel to up to 5-10 events per year (10%). Open to traveling internationally if the opportunity arises.
