We are seeking an experienced Workers Compensation claims adjuster with a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in lost time and medical only claims. RESPONSIBILITIES
Investigate and evaluate claims
- Thoroughly review and complete client instructions
- Instruct and supervise external partners
- Review all incoming claims for validity and submit final recommendations to the carrier
- Complete and submit initial reports that include summary of loss
- Oversee all medical bills and records that correspond
- Calculate benefits and submit check requests
- Complete state filings and maintain the status of all claims
- Obtain recorded statements with the insured, claimants and witnesses to gather pertinent information
- Obtain necessary documentation from third parties and official agencies
- Process claims according to the appropriate state statutes
- Work with new assigned carriers to confirm coverage and complete the full three-point contact on new claims
- Review and audit field estimates & photos
- Create and maintain daily diary
- Prepare detailed formal summary reports documenting information gathered from the investigation
- Identify fraudulent claims and underwriting risks
- Adhere to Best Practices
Communicate & respond effectively with clients
- Develop and maintain positive client relationships
- Anticipate client needs / instructions
- Utilize technology to assist and streamline claims investigations
- Respond to client requests, correspondence, emails, and voicemails in a timely manner
- Make suggestions for additional investigation of claims based on your experience

Qualifications
- Minimum 5-years’ experience and knowledge in Workers Compensation lost time and medical only claims.
- Possess at least one (1) reciprocal workers compensation adjuster license
- Willingness and ability to handle multiple jurisdictions simultaneously
- Experience navigating and understanding state regulations, regardless of state.
- Skilled interaction on many levels: adjuster, supervisor, management, customers, others constituents in the claims process.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
- Computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related business and communication tools
- Fantastic organizational and time management skills
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
