The Opportunity
We are seeking an accomplished, self-driven, highly motivated Business Development Manager with experience in the Aviation sector (flight planning or runway performance).
This position will carry the sales and customer relationship responsibility, in a given area, across all products of the Aircraft Performance Group (APG), RocketRoute and Seattle Avionics (APGA) product and service portfolio.
This successful candidate will be measured individually and part of the broader team through quarterly sales quotas.
As the successful Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for growth in your designated region. You will identify, qualify and execute opportunities that will accelerate growth in revenue while maintain current customer renewals.
He/She will report to the Regional Sales Leader and will be required to travel on a frequent basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Winning new customers with associated new sales revenue
- Upsell and upgrade existing clients; renewals are key but new business is paramount
- Identifying, participating, leading and winning new proposals and tender opportunities that result in sales
- Meet and exceed defined individual sales quota targets
- Deliver end to end positive customer relationship and experience
- Be an active ‘voice of the customer’ with all facets and areas of the business; escalating key service issues as appropriate
- Drive individual and team sales campaigns, in coordination with marketing and leadership
- Be a key representative of the company as a front line to the customer, organizing and planning for regular customer interaction to maximize customer satisfaction
- Be a part of sales presence at own regional and industry events as well as annual trade shows as defined by senior sales leader
- Conduct competitor analysis to ensure marketing strategy effectiveness, suggest solutions when off the mark
- Develop, maintain, and enhance all individual sales KPI’s
Required Experience and Job Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a sales role
- Experience in the Aviation sector (flight planning or runway performance) is required
- Great interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
- Proven sales performance track record working in a remote environment
- High levels of emotional intelligence with an ability to manage customers in a diverse aviation market
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to negotiate with internal and external customers
- Consultative sales skills and a deep understanding of pipeline management
- Business acumen, strong analytical, trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent sales projects and initiatives in a cross-functional and multinational environment
- Hands-on experience in quota and pipeline management tracking using a CRM system – Salesforce preferred
- Product life-cycle understanding and experience
