Overview:
Our busy and growing hospital is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician or experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our small and dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and possess a strong knowledge of veterinary practices and procedures. Responsibilities:
- Performing TPR (temperature, pulse and respiration) assessments
- Gathering histories and assisting veterinarian with routine examinations
- Administering vaccines and other injections as directed by the veterinarian
- Collecting samples and performing routine diagnostics
- Venipuncture, intubation, and IV catheter placement
- Assisting with and/or taking radiographs
- Prepping, monitoring, and recovering patients for medical and surgical procedures under the direction of the veterinarian
- Filling and dispensing prescriptions
- Operating and maintaining hospital equipment as directed
- Providing exceptional nursing care to dogs and cats (Fear Free preferred)
- Assisting in maintenance of accurate medical records
- Maintaining cleanliness of exam rooms and treatment areas
- Following opening/closing procedures for hospital
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Technician (ideally more)
- Proficiency in safe handling and restraint of dogs and cats
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Positive attitude and desire to learn
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced team environment, while maintaining efficiency and attention to detail
- Typing and general computer skills. Experience with EzyVet is a plus!
- Knowledge of basic radiology technique and in-house diagnostics
- Proficiency with Spanish preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to walk or stand for significant periods of time
- Reliable transportation and the ability to arrive promptly for schedule shifts
Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 7:30am- 5:30pm; Wednesday 7:30am- 12pm
- No weekend or evening shifts

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
