SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the review and monitoring of the City’s existing Building Automation Systems (BAS). Work includes creating a preventative maintenance schedule; performing service on existing systems and its components; and periodically inspecting the computer monitoring and control system.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitors and maintains building automation systems to ensure improved occupant comfort, efficient operation of building systems, and a reduction in energy consumption and operating costs

Responds to user complaints and requests for service.

Creates and maintains a preventative maintenance schedule for all systems and system components according to industry guidelines.

Periodically performs physical inspections of systems and components in use at City facilities to ensure they are operating as intended.

Makes recommendations for budgets relating to the need for new or upgraded equipment and/ or the periodic repair and replacement of systems or components.

Prepares work orders for related maintenance work when appropriate.

Coordinates work schedules with building staff and maintenance personnel.

Records usage rates and other data and regularly submits reports to management.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Requires a High School Diploma or its equivalent and a minimum of two years of experience in a related field of installing and servicing building control systems. Valid Texas Driver’s License required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of HVAC components and functions, electrical supply systems and environmental control systems

Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, etc.

Strong verbal and written communication skill.

Ability to operate computers and other basic office equipment.
