Hi-School Pharmacy is looking for a full-time pharmacy technician for their Medicine-On-Time location based in Vancouver, WA. Applicants must enjoy working with the public, be able to work as a team with others in the pharmacy, communicate well, and be able to comply with all state and federal pharmacy regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Expedites prescription processing by performing all duties necessary and allowable, by policies &/or law.
- Receives new and refilled prescriptions from customers/facilities for filling.
- Verifies name and address (if applicable) of the person the new prescription is to be filled for, as well as, legibility of the prescriber’s name.
- Facilitates prescription refill requests
- Prepares labels/MOT lidding for new/refill prescriptions.
- Accommodates customers/caregivers when they arrive to pick up prescriptions.
- Procures manifest signatures from customers for all prescriptions received.
- Answers incoming calls, directs to Pharmacist, when appropriate, such as new prescriptions, questions about medication, judgmental decision, etc.
- Answers incoming calls, direct to appropriate designated staff (i.e. DME, Accts receivable, etc.)
- Completes and processes third-party documents.
- Facilitates Docutrack fax queue/electronic document distribution to appropriate triage areas for attention (i.e. refills, new Rx, lab results, etc.)
- Facilitates prior-authorization processes
- Utilizes & properly completes all forms, reports, documents, etc., as they relate to Beneficiary/Caregiver training involving DMEPOS products and processes.
- Records & documents delivery/return transactions per company policies/procedures.
- Appropriately bills patient insurance/accounts receivable for provided items.
- Packages new prescriptions and refills in vials or compliance packaging.
- Maintains patient profiles in CRX.
- Properly utilize all required forms/documents as outlined in policies & procedures (i.e. manifest, white slips, returns, etc.)
- Fills bins with prescription vials, MOT packaging, etc. & restocks workstation.
- Checks items for appropriate ‘shelf life’ remaining before expiration.
- Reorders/documents low inventory items when required.
- Monitors 3rd party payer reimbursements & properly applies billing codes.
- Checks stock to remove outdated items, as often as deemed necessary by the Pharmacist-In-Charge
- Cleans Pharmacy shelves and work areas and maintains entire premises in a satisfactory state of cleanliness.
- Facilitates and maintains proper adherence and paperwork documentation of all assigned tasks relating to CMS Accreditation per Medicare, HIPAA, & DMEPOS policies and procedures (i.e. OSHA, infection control adherence, etc.)

Qualifications and Skills

- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations –Current WA State Pharmacy Technician Certification
- Education and/or Experience –High School Diploma or GED.
