Job description
Hiker, a highly collaborative, Emmy, Webby, and Telly-award winning creative studio, is seeking a Creative Project Manager. Our focus is on using design, production, strategy, and innovation to help our partners tell better stories.
You’ll support a diverse, small team of full-time strategists, writers, producers, animators, editors, developers, and designers by helping us ship high quality work on time.
As a creative project manager at Hiker, you will own the full life-cycle of select client projects. You’ll help set and clarify objectives, field assets, communicate timelines, and review work for quality assurance – all while being the best internal and external service person for our teams. The work requires a great organizational and service mindset and prioritizes listening, responsiveness, innovation, superior writing skills, creativity, spark and fun.
You will be responsible for maintaining a steady stream of creative output. Thus, familiarity with Photoshop, Figma, and other design tools are a plus. You’ll ensure the team hits its milestones, stay honest and relaxed, and use project management software and scheduling software such as Slack, Asana, Workfront, and Basecamp to keep everyone on the same playing field. You’ll work within our delivery processes – and help to influence ways we can improve them – to ensure deliverables are on target. Most importantly, you’ll help digital processes be enjoyable, transparent, and productive.
Work & Culture.Hiker is a low-ego, self-starter-driven environment full of creative culture that values kindness and hard work. We make some incredibly diverse, interesting work. The most successful Hikers bring a lot of curiosity, ideas, talent, ambition for great work, and humor. We very intentionally work with both commercial brands and social impact partners. Our POV is that nonprofit partners benefit from the pace and creative demands of commercial partners. Commercial partners benefit from the mission-focused messaging of social impact partners. So it's important that you're OK with that.
Recent clients include: Year Up, National Park Service, U of Pitt, Penn State, American Forests, New Profit, Verizon, RE/MAX, Under Armour, and Lands’ End.
Hours and Benefits:This is a full-time role, with a 10am-6pm workday EST. Fully remote (except for some client meetings, events, shoots).
We offer full-time employees 100% of standard health premium paid. We also offer dental, vision, commuter benefits, an HSA, and a 401(k) with a 3% match. Everyone starts with three weeks vacation a year. Unlimited personal days.
Qualifications:The ideal candidate should be curious, able to multitask, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have a passion for problem solving. As long as you meet those qualifications we’re confident you can learn the rest. 2-3 years experience in a client-facing role is a plus.
Working knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office are important. Knowledge of various project management software is critical, with a bonus if you’ve navigated Asana, Workgront, and Basecamp. We do most of our internal communicating on Slack.
This role will require frequent design reviews to ensure work adheres to client standards. Hands-on experience working with Photoshop and Figma is preferred.
To Apply:Please submit your resume, a photo of a cat, and a cover letter that includes salary requirements, available start date and location you hope to work from. Feel free to include links to any past work, if you’d like. All submissions without a cat photo will be deleted.
Hiker is an equal opportunity employer and seeks to create a diverse team. We are happy to make accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities.
