Oversees the research and development process, this includes but is not limited to project management, and team leadership. Actively monitor cost of projects and work within budget. Ensuring the timely delivery of innovative products or solutions. You will be responsible for research, planning and overseeing the entire development process of new products and programs within the organization. You should also stay informed on what is happening in the research and development field at large to make sure the company is up-to-date and current with the most advanced R&D developments. Your active participation will be required from the initial planning phase to implementation or production and assign scientists based on company priorities. Additionally, you are required to keep track of all the costs related to the creation of these new products and recommend what ideas are worth pursuing. Molding and instilling an attitude and perspective that is aligned with 3C. You will be the primary resource for processes and work content questions. You will help the team focus and execute their goals in daily and weekly context by employing standard processes. You will keep the energy and standards high.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Report on research activities, developing and rigorously testing a completely new product or incrementally improving the design, functionality, or performance of an existing product.
· Lead key projects with R&D to support business goals.
· Develop research programs incorporating current developments to improve existing products and study the potential of new products.
· Understand customer expectations on to-be manufactured products.
· Support director to hire and develop R&D personnel.
· Research, design, and evaluate materials, assemblies, processes, and equipment.
· Monitor team metrics and objectives ensuring meeting of goals.
· Scouts for new material concepts for suitability to develop approaches that can be utilized in current future products.
· Administer the appropriate project management systems to maintain reporting and status updates.
· Summarizes data in reports and/or presentations at regular intervals and documents.
· Ensures all ISO requirements are met and produces the necessary documentation to maintain compliance.
· Develop new products to meet the needs of the company’s target market.
· Report on any technical product issues that are discovered during evaluation.
· Manage product testing and trials.
SKILLS AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
· 10 years’ experience in academic or industrial research laboratories.
· 5 years' experience in management, R&D role
· Track record of successful project management experience preferred.
· Proven written and verbal communication skills.
· Great problem-solving skills.
· Ability to pay attention to details.
· Excellent leadership skills and managerial skills.
· The ability to communicate well with customers, colleagues, and team.
· Hands-on experience in managing or leading a team of employees.
· Ability to multitask effectively and good at managing time.
· Good business sense.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, science, or technology.
