Construction Superintendent

Our Superintendent is responsible for:
PLANNING
- reviewing the plans and specifications for constructability and construction schedules and advise the project team of issues or deficiencies.
- understanding the project estimate and budget setup.
- understanding the trade contractor and supplier contract scopes.
- updating ‘2-week look ahead’.
- updating plans as needed (mark modifications).
- quality control -OHSA-EPA and subcontractor coordination responsibilities.
- identifying, listing, and acquiring materials for the job.
OPERATIONS
- running the day-to-day operations on the construction site and controlling the short-term schedule (weekly and daily schedules). OHSA-EPA aspects
- reviewing quality control procedures, EPA, safety and security practices, field office location and layout, temporary utilities, staging areas, equipment and manpower.
- coordinating, directing, monitoring, and inspecting the activities of the Subcontractors, Suppliers and Epic Consultants labor and material.
- ensuring all needed material is available when the job will be executed.
- cooperating with, and directing, when necessary, the activities of the inspection agencies, and to effect remedial actions indicated by the reports of these agencies.
- tracking inventory of all materials and supplies to help ensure against loss and help keep the job on schedule.
- mentoring and training other employees as necessary.
SAFETY-ENVIRONMENT
- ensuring that all required permits or licenses have been obtained.
- ensuring that a weatherproof bulletin board is installed in the jobsite on which all required safety notices are posted.
- ensuring that job safety requirements are understood and implemented by all project personnel and trade contractors, working with the safety support personnel as a resource. Continually strives for Zero Injury on all projects.
- leading on-site daily safety meetings.
- watching and correcting all safety hazards at the jobsite.
- reporting all safety incidents to safety personnel.
REPORTING
- weekly coordination meetings and monthly safety meetings with the subcontractors and to issue written minutes to the Project Manager as a result thereof.
- receiving and reviewing (or generating) the Subcontractors Daily Reports of work, labor and material employed (project name, tasks completed for the day, issues that came up, corrective actions).
- reviewing and approving the Subcontractor’s monthly requests for payment, including the review and approval of all time and material work vouchers and invoices.
- maintaining all records pertaining to labor and material costs.
- updating the project status (Master Plan, 2 Week Look Ahead, Weekly Plan).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $97,975.00 - $104,902.00 per year
