Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for all facets of employment practices and employee relations. Talent recruitment, interviewing, hiring and orientation are key duties, as well as mediating employee conflict and assisting managers with discipline and termination of employees. Other duties include payroll management, insurance benefits, medical or disability leave and compliance with labor laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Plans and directs all aspects of the human resources policies, objectives, and initiatives.
- Responsible for hiring, orientation, training, labor relations, compensation, benefits, and employee services.
- Ensures company compliance with current, applicable labor laws.
- Oversee recruiting and selection process to fill vacant positions
- Keep records of benefits plans participation such as insurance, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting
- Coordinate management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment
- Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
- Administer performance review programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization
- Administer PTO accruals, tracking and adjustments
- Investigate accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier
- Prepare budget of human resources operations
- Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation
- Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations
- Process payroll
- Maintain HR E-files
- Assist employees with general questions related to benefits
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the HR management role.
- Leadership skills
- Organization and time management skills
- Thorough knowledge of employment laws
- Ability to keep track of a variety of details
- Ability to analyze and interpret employee surveys
- Experience with cross border HR Management (Canada and USA) is preferred
