Job Title: Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)
Summary:
Pediatric OTAs assist occupational therapists in providing therapy to children with developmental, physical, or emotional challenges. They help implement treatment plans, conduct activities, and support children in improving daily living skills and independence.
Responsibilities:
- Support occupational therapists in assessing and treating pediatric patients.
- Assist children in therapeutic activities to improve motor skills, coordination, and sensory processing.
- Collaborate with therapists to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Provide guidance and encouragement to children during therapy sessions.
- Document patient progress and communicate observations to the therapy team.
- Maintain a safe and engaging therapy environment for children.
- Assist with administrative tasks and equipment setup as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- State licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Experience or training in pediatric therapy settings preferred.
- Understanding of child development and therapeutic interventions.
- Compassion, patience, and ability to engage with children.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Working Conditions:
Pediatric OTAs contracting with Sunny Steps Pediatrics can work in homes, daycares, private schools or community settings. They may interact with children of various ages and abilities. This is a PRN 1099 position. Make your own schedule, in need for all hours of the day!
