The Senior Accountant will work closely with other members of the accounting department on various areas of financial statements. The core responsibilities include month end closing procedures such as the preparation of cash, undeposited, sales, and prepaid entries. The Senior Accountant will also prepare corresponding reconciliations to support reported balances.
Position Description:
· Record all incoming and outgoing cash transactions for assigned bank accounts with attention to detail, ensuring entries adhere to accounting principles and company guidelines.
· Perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies promptly (cash, undeposited, prepaid, etc.).
· Record sales adjustments, merchant fees, and undeposited entries for our Auto Detailing Supplies entity.
· Prepare entries to record the monthly amortization of prepaid expenses.
· Analyze software, marketing, auto, and consulting general ledger activity to determine the completeness and accuracy of all prepaid expenses recorded in our accounting system. Also, review respective invoices to determine the period and monthly amortization.
· Collaborate with the AP team to ensure all prepaid invoices are recorded correctly. If necessary, record correcting entries to ensure the reported balance is accurate.
· Manage the prepaid roll forward for prepaid services fees, auto insurance, and marketing.
· Maintain the foreign exchange rates workbook.
· Complete CG UK audit and financial statement requests as assigned.
· Assist in annual physical inventory counts.
· Undertake additional duties and projects as required to support the accounting department.

Required Skills:
· 3 years of private and/or public accounting experience.
· Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
· Ability to consistently meet deadlines and exhibit ownership of assigned tasks.
· Proficient in excel and other Microsoft applications.
· Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
· Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external auditors.
· Effective verbal and written communications skills.
· A bachelor’s degree in accounting.
· Big 4 or national accounting firm experience preferred, but not required.
First Year Deliverables
· 3 months: Proactively foster effective communication and teamwork within the department and across teams, cultivating a collaborative work environment.
· 3 months: Maintain a high level of accuracy in recording cash transactions, ensuring entries are made promptly. Achieve accurate and consistent cash reconciliation results, resolving discrepancies within specified timeframes. Communicate clearly and professionally when answering queries related to cash transactions and reconciliations in a timely manner.
· 6 months: Accurately record all prepaid amortization entries with proper company, department, and expense categorization. If any invoices are incorrectly included or excluded collaborate with the AP team to correct them.
· 12 months: Master recording sales adjustments, merchant fees, and undeposited entries for our Auto Detailing Supplies entity. To demonstrate the mastery of these entries continuously review and enhance processes to minimize errors and elevate the overall accuracy of our accounting records.
· 12 months: Complete assigned audit requests in a timely manner to contribute to the successful completion of the CG UK audit.
