Position Summary: The Apprentice Electrician 2 will continue applying their apprenticeship knowledge within the field while building upon the skills acquired during their first year of apprenticeship. Apprentice Electrician 2 will continue to work closely with experienced journeymen and foreman-level electricians to gain confidence in completing complex tasks within commercial and industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Execute a variety of electrical and general labor tasks.
- Handle material and maintain job site housekeeping.
- Review blueprints to perform wire terminations, wire-pulling procedures, and terminations.
- Assist with general site preparation and clean up.
- Promote a “safety first” workspace
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Dependable with quick response to supervisor direction
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to lift 50lbs and climb up and down a ladder safely.
- Able to work in extreme weather conditions.
- Able to safely operate tools and equipment.
- Ability to work from various heights via ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and other safe work platforms.
- Committed to a minimum of 40-hour work weeks.
- Ability to work in and around restricted/ confined spaces
Education and Experience:
- Minimum one year of commercial electrical experience or related experience
- Completion of 1st year in a registered apprenticeship program or similar education
- OSHA 10 certified
