What we REQUIRE:
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2+ years’ experience supporting individuals (e.g., implementing ABA, adult education and/or community integration) with Intellectual Disability and substantial mental health diagnoses
- Reliable means of transportation, valid CA driver's license, registration, and proof of insurance
- Must pass a TB test
- Must pass a criminal background check (FBI/DOJ clearance)
Job Description: Behavior Therapist (RBT) in Adult Day Program
The role of a community support specialist (CSS) is to implement person-centered clinical programming procedures based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) (e.g., challenging behavior management, skill acquisition, & data collection procedures) with CABA clients under the supervision of a CABA Registered Behavior Technician(RBT) and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in order to ensure the success of CABA client(s) while supporting the individual(s) in the community.
Primary responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- To support a client in achieving identified goals related to: Postsecondary education and Vocation skills, this includes but is not limited to:
- Creating a daily schedule and routine
- Coordinating community outreach with local resources on behalf of client
- Implementing ABA based behavior plans and skill acquisition programs as designed by senior member of the clinical team
- Collect data and maintain client records in accordance with individualized goals
- Maintain dignity of client while assisting with personal care which may include nutrition, personal hygiene and supporting client to look his/her best
- Accurately complete Internal Incident Reports (IIR) and Mandated Reporting in a timely manner as applicable
- Complete all required initial and on-going staff trainings
- Utilize public transportation to get to and from various locations while accompanying client on outings in the community
- Adhere to ethical practices and core values of CABA
- Adhere to standards for best practices as determined by legislation, industry standards, funding sources, and CABA
- Fulfill all requirements to obtain and maintain a credential as a Registered Behavior Technician(RBT) set forth by credentialing body (i.e., BACB), industry standards, funding sources, and CABA standards
- Complete other clinical and administrative activities assigned at the discretion of CABA
