GROUNDS CREW MEMBER
DESCRIPTION:
East Texas Baptist University invites applications for a full-time Grounds Crew Member in the Physical Operations/Landscaping department. The position begins when filled.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School graduate or equivalent degree preferred.
- Experience in operating small hand equipment (i.e., mowers, edger, weed-eaters) is preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of equipment is helpful, but most important is a willingness to learn, to be trained and to follow instructions as needed.
- Desire and ability to work with others in a team concept is necessary.
- Must be a Christian who is a member of a church that holds Jesus Christ to be their Savior and Lord, and who holds solely the Holy Bible as sacred Scriptures. Must be an active member of a local Christian Church.
LINE OF ORGANIZATION: Reports to the Director of Landscaping.
PRIMARY POSITION OBJECTIVES:
- Hand mowing small areas of the campus.
- Responsible for weed eating and edging of the campus.
- Responsible to clean up trash and other accumulated items before mowing an area.
- Help with regularly scheduled daily trash pick-up.
- Responsible for cleaning of all crew equipment used that day.
- Responsible for placing all tools back into the storage room each evening.
- Responsible to inform Crew Leader and/or Grounds Maintenance Manager of any damage done to equipment or vehicles belonging to the department.
- Responsible for following all directions of the Grounds Crew Leader. and the Director of Landscaping.
- Perform all/other duties requested by the Grounds Crew Leader, the Director of Landscaping, the Assistant Vice President for University Operations, and the University President.
