This position will provide medical transports for patients from medical facilities with whom we are contracted with. Transports can come in a variety of different settings to medical appointments, emergent care and receiving a releases.
Requirements:
Understand and manage general medical complaints to include but not limited to: altered mental status, psychiatric crises, respiratory distress, cardiac, diabetic, seizures, allergic reaction, poisoning and environmental emergencies.
Be familiar with common medical terminology
Be adept in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, including the use of an automated defibrillator.
Assist patients with prescribed medications to include but not limited to: sublingual medications, auto injectors, oral and handheld aerosol treatments.
Secure patients to stretcher for transport
Ability to lift 150Lbs
Administration of oxygen, oral glucose and activated charcoal.
Restock and replace items on ambulance.
Ensure equipment is in working order and cleaned properly per protocol
Provide and maintain confidentiality.
Seeks guidance and remains knowledgeable of, and complies with, all applicable federal and state laws as well as company policies
Maintains aptitude for latest trends and procedures through continuing education or refresher courses.
Necessary Skills
Ability to handle crisis without haste or errors
Competent and confident bedside manner
Ability to work expeditiously and accomplish assigned tasks
Assessment competencies to continually assess patient during transport.
Competency in reporting observations, care provided and outcomes both verbally and written with attention to detail.

Licensure: EMT-B, EMT A, Paramedic
Required: Must pass background check/drug screening/driving record and have current Hazmat/BBP/CPR and EVOC
