Romig Engineers, Inc. is seeking an experienced soil technician or field engineer/geologist to join our construction observation team in San Carlos. The position includes geotechnical construction observation and nuclear density testing for commercial and residential grading operations, field report preparation, and various field and office tasks to support our engineering staff. Nuclear density gauge and NICET certification a plus.
The successful candidate will receive training to perform a wide variety of field, laboratory and office tasks, at the direction of our professional staff. The position will require an ability to lift, carry and transport soil samples and equipment up to 50 pounds in weight. Clean DMV record with current driver license and suitable vehicle for travel to project sites is required.
The ideal candidate will have:
· Three or more years of geotechnical construction observation and testing experience;
· Strong leadership and decision-making skills;
· Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills;
· Strong computer skills;
· Self motivated with strong interest in career advancement; and,
· Ability to work well with others, as well as, work independently.
