Overview
Lancaster Custom Dock & Lift Systems is seeking an experienced and skilled Foreman/Lead Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the construction process from start to finish, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. The Lead Carpenter will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to direct and mentor a team of carpenters and subcontractors.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the construction process, including planning, organizing, and directing the work of carpenters and subcontractors.
- Interpret and implement construction plans, blueprints, and drawings.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and construction standards.
- Develop and manage construction schedules, including timelines and milestones.
- Manage and resolve conflicts and issues that arise during construction.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, including project files, reports, and invoices.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Foreman/Lead Carpenter or in a related construction role.
- Proven leadership and management experience, with a track record of successfully overseeing construction projects.
- Experience with construction estimating
- Familiarity with safety regulations and construction standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction plans.
- Excellent carpentry skills, including framing, roofing, finishing and general construction techniques.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Requirements
- Ability to lift 80lbs
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
