Field Service Engineer Job Summary
We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to prepare mechanical overhauls, repair and execute the service solutions in compliance with customer specifications and contractual agreements. This includes planning, designing tools, machines, and turbo compressors. You will work on equipment such as Axial Flow Compressors, Radial Split Casing Compressors, Radial Barrel Compressors, Gear Compressors, Screw Compressors, Steam Turbines, Hot Gas Expanders, Multi-stage in line Centrifugal Compressors, Single and Multi-stage Gear Compressors.
Field Service Engineer Responsibilities
- Supervise the installation, overhaul, and repair of turbo compressors
- Consult with customer or supervisor to plan layout of equipment
- Consult with purchaser regarding the sequence of steps in erection, installation, inspection, start-up, dismantling, or repair of products
- Supervise the installation of new equipment
- Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, and operation of product designs
- Install or oversee installation of equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications
- Operate system to demonstrate equipment and to analyze malfunctions
- Interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and repair equipment,
- Consult with customers to explain features and on the features and function of products
- Consult with manager to resolve unusual problems in system operation and maintenance.
- Supervise workers in testing, tuning, and adjusting equipment to obtain optimum operating performance
- Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using drafting tools or computer-assisted design (CAD) or drafting equipment and software
- Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles
- Recommend designs modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions
- Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components, and systems
- Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation
Field Service Engineer Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college or university; or ten or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
