Job Description:
The Purchasing Supervisor will oversee and direct the activities of the purchasing department. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services, and managing vendors to ensure the company procures all its needs at the most favorable terms.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
- Assess, manage and mitigate risks.
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
9. Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
10. Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
- Mentor and develop a team of purchasing professionals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the purchasing department.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on the performance of the purchasing department.
14. Evaluating quality, price, reliability, technical support and availability of goods and services.
15. Manage and review required inventory levels.
Qualifications:
- Proven working experience as a Purchasing Supervisor, Agent or Officer.
- Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management.
- A knack for negotiation and networking.
- Minium of 10 years’ working experience of vendor management software (ERP, SAP, CRM, Epicor, Power BI, PLEX).
- Ability to gather and analyze data and work with figures.
- Solid judgement along with decision making skills.
- Strong leadership capabilities.
- BS degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration.
