Job Title: HR Generalist
Branch: Lyons Main Office
Report To: HR Manager
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Onsite Work Only
Status: Full-time
Wage Range: Dependent Upon Experience/Education/Certifications
The HR Generalist reports to the HR Manager. It supports the HR Manager in various areas of Human Resources such as comparing HR laws to current policies and procedures and ensuring compliance, drafting templates for HR documents and oversee the recruiting, hiring and onboarding process for company employees. This position also includes regular tasks, file management, answering phones, etc.
This position is considered a training in role in becoming an HR Manager. This is not a remote or hybrid position. Onsite work will always be required.
- As Human Resources Generalist, the ultimate mission is to provide support to the HR Manager in providing outstanding customer service that supports the company vision.
- Supports the HR Manager by coordinating the key components of the onboarding process in support of high-volume hiring initiatives ensuring a fulfilling new hire experience, including Recruiting, Screening, Interviewing, Hiring, Coordinating with new employees, Affirmative Action Plan, etc.
- Creates with the EHS and HR Manager, orientation sessions for new employees.
- Works with the HR Manager in maintaining proper HR physical and digital records, including personnel files, documents, reports, etc.
- Creates and coordinates with the HR Manager on official internal documents such as offer letters, disciplinary forms, Personnel Action Forms, etc.
- Coordinates with HR Manager in ensuring compliance in policies, laws, rules and regulations as it relates to HR, including but not limited to anti-harassment training, certifications, EEO and AAP reports, leadership training, etc.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees and supervisors, referring complex or sensitive matters to the HR Manager
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law
- Assists the main office in answering phones and assisting vendors, employees, public, etc.
Documents all activities, situations and issues which are required to be recorded in a timely manner.
Attends and participates in some employee disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations
Responsibilities are not limited to the above-mentioned and may include assisting other branches with reasonable and related tasks.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in human resources or working towards such degree preferred; will also consider HR Certifications (PHR, SPHR, GPHR, etc.)

3+ yrs. of HR related work experience or equivalent HR certifications/education required
