Scope of Position
The Payroll Manager will oversee and supervise the organization's payroll functions, ensuring payroll is processed in a timely manner, accurately and in compliance with government regulations. The Payroll Manager is also responsible for timekeeping, pay rates, and miscellaneous earnings. Additionally, he/she is to ensure taxes and other deductions are accounted for and payments are issued to the appropriate authorities in a timely manner.
Position Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience in Payroll software in a Hotel/Restaurant accounting environment and a workforce with 1,000- 1,200 associates.

Excellent cash handling skills evidenced by no overages and shortages.

Follow local and corporate policies and procedures.

Able to work independently and exercise judgment to resolve personnel and production issues that arise.

Knowledge of business applications (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, Paycom, Great Plains etc.), required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Responsibilities

Maintain all payroll data up to date, including items that pertain to legal obligations or as required by a third party.

Collect and verify all basic information pertaining to Payroll such us timesheets, overtime sheets, deductions or additional income.

Process weekly paychecks for multiple properties (3 hotels), banking information and journals.

Prepare any mid-cycle termination salaries and final payment.

Verify that overtime is properly approved and accounted for.

Perform computerized function to transmit the payroll information, including associate direct deposit information, in a timely manner to ensure scheduled distribution of paychecks.

Maintain files with the utmost confidentiality to protect team members' information.
- Any other duties required by management.

Weekly 401K and benefit submittal / reporting.
- In addition, other duties may be required by management.
Education
- High school diploma; experience in a large hotel environment, preferred.
Skills and Abilities

Ability to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.
- Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.

Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly, correctly, and in a way that allows one to solve work-related issues.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Experience using computers and software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.
Physical Requirements

On a continuous basis, sit at a desk for long periods of time in front of a computer screen.

Intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies surrounding desk.

Use telephone and computer keyboard on a daily basis.

Must be physically fit in order to lift, pull and push items up to 50 pounds.

Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
