Position Summary
The Operating Room Manager supervises and coordinates activities of personnel in the operating rooms and sterile processing department; ensures adherence to procedure and schedule; supervises the procurement and maintenance of equipment and supplies, staffing and training of employees. The Operating Room Manager will be expected to collaborate with the Perioperative Manager to ensure patient continuity of care. The Operating Room Manager should have awareness of all requirements for AAAHC, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory and/or accrediting agencies. They should be able to promote departmental goals and objectives in accordance with established policies. The position requires the ability to multi-task, enforce accountability, and promote professionalism among the teammates that report to them.
Qualifications
· Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
· Current registered nurse licensure in the state of TN
· Two years management experience; experience in ASC environment preferred
· BLS required; ACLS required
· Demonstrate clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities
· Strong, effective communication skills, both orally and in writing
· Ability to lead, work independently, and as a team
· Ability to delegate assignments to team members
· Ability to prepare reports and keep accurate records
· Strong computer and data entry skills
· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
· Determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations
· Ability to create care coordination in a multidisciplinary environment
· Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner
· Maintains professional conduct and appearance at all times

· Responsible for oversight of the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department
· Ensures all equipment, implants, and other necessary items are available each day for all cases
· Maintains physician preference cards
· Implements quality improvement measures and maintenance of departmental/patient/visitor/physician and team safety
· Assures that quality control requirements are met per ASC policies
· Demonstrates the ability to provide leadership in the management, organization, and performance of specialized patient care
· Shares clinical expertise with team members and demonstrates a commitment to team development
· Ensures continued compliance with government regulatory agencies i.e., HIPPA, the ASC accrediting organizational standards and AAAHC
· Presents clinical updates at team meetings throughout the year
· Implements, and re-evaluates unit specific orientation programs
· Ensures established teaming patterns are met and competency standards are maintained
· Assures documentation of patient care meets criteria dictated by legal practice, state, and federal health standards
· Manage schedules of department staff
· Prepares daily nursing assignments/tasks
· Delegate to and support staff with ensuring tasks are completed and operating room requests are satisfied in a timely manner
· Active participation in daily Safety Assembly
· Works with SPD Lead to maintain oversight of the Sterile Processing Department
· Holds individual employees accountable for assigned responsibilities, individual goals and performance expectations throughout the year
· Ensures logs are maintained to keep a safe environment
· Communicates effectively and courteously with visitors, physicians, office staff, patients and employees
· Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
· Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times
· Responsible for knowing and following the standards established by Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996

Pay: $35.00 - $43.00 per hour
