Residential Mental Health Clinician
Job Summary: Responsible for providing therapeutic services to individual clients and families enrolled in the Therapeutic Group Home (TGC) of the Department of Mental Health. Responsible for providing services that are provided in the home and community as well as on campus of the TGC.
**Sign-on bonus*** is $2,500.00 to the successful hire. Paid in 2 intervals and on the pay period following 3 months and 6 months.**
Essential Position Functions
- Provides comprehensive initial, ongoing, and specialized clinical assessment and treatment including individual and family therapy to assigned caseload as needed. Provides group therapy to residential houses. Services are provided through a combination of campus/milieu based, home based and community based modalities. Service provision varies depending on each client and family’s needs, and their input is integral in treatment planning and provision.
- Provides clinical case management services, including collateral contact, for clients and families served (through face-to-face, phone, email, or other technologically appropriate methods with all appropriate prior approvals and HIPPA compliance such as encrypted Zoom). Communicate regularly with all involved parties and facilitate treatment meetings and/or attend related case conference meetings (involved teams, providers, school, state agencies, and other supports).
- Develop treatment plans for all assigned cases and regularly maintain all required clinical documents as required by DMH TGC and licensing in a timely manner. This includes: comprehensive assessments, progress notes, quarterly reports, and discharge summaries and other requirements. Assess client suicide risk, and communicate with psychiatrist regarding medication concerns.
- Supports Clinical Director with conducting intakes and managing admissions for residential and respite as needed. This could include completing informed consents with guardians, providing tours and interviews for prospective clients, completing initial paperwork and providing relevant information to staff as needed during the intake process.
- Follow required mandated reporting guidelines by reporting suspicions of abuse/neglect to the Department of Children and Families. Provide court testimony as required.
- Attend weekly individual clinical supervision, clinical staff meetings, attend and present on assigned caseload at monthly DMH Utilization Review meetings.
- Collaborate closely with residential staff and managers, including facilitating weekly staff consults, spending time in the houses when appropriate, and creating intervention plans and supporting the staff on implementation. Maintain a Trauma Informed and positive and strengths based view of clients and families to set tone for team. Assist Clinical Director with creating and providing clinical staff trainings.
- Facilitates strong relationships with outside providers, including but not limited to DMH Case Managers and supervisors, community Clinicians, In Home teams, Educational providers as relevant.
- Participates in shared clinical on call rotation, which provide 24-hour support to staff as needed, on weekdays and weekends. This includes managing staffing needs as well as crisis management.
- Maintains licensure (as needed) and relevant requirements and keep on file with agency. Follows guidelines of licensing board.

Minimum Requirements:
Degree: M.S.W , M.Ed, Ed. D. Ph.D., Psy.D or similar degree
License /Certification: LICSW or LMHC preferred, or license eligible.
Years and Type of Experience: Preferred 2 years post graduate experience, at least one year directly working with youth who have experienced serious emotional disturbance or other mental health and emotional challenges to well-being.
