SUMMARY:
Responsible for all packaging coordination with customers / suppliers, including maintaining packaging fleet calculators, monitoring customer packaging portals, filling claims and performing audits for packaging, entering CLIPS manifest for all direct ships, leading special cost savings projects associated with packaging, and also working closely with program teams during launch phase of a new program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily entry of customer container manifests, expendable shipment approval and expendable claim filing for all plants.
- Monitor returnable dunnage tracking and file discrepancy forms as needed. File claims for loss / damage.
- Be central contact for all customer and packaging questions and information needed
- Work with customers and program teams on new launches and requested container changes
- Maintain customer packaging portals
- Develop quotes for new customers / programs
- Configure packaging for customer and supplier use
- Evaluate and lead projects to convert suppliers to returnable dunnage. Gather cost and demonstrate the long-term savings with returnable dunnage
- Work closely with receiving dock to improve returns process, so all suppliers receive their returnable dunnage back
- Conduct customer packaging counts for audits
- Manage returnable container repair flow

Must have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with suppliers, quality, production, engineering, program management, purchasing, all levels of management, and other plant and office personnel. Attention to detail and accuracy. Must have good computer skills with a working knowledge of AS400 and browser based ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), Microsoft Windows. Must understand ERP systems, Bills of Material, JIT Manufacturing, Blueprints, Work Instructions, Shipping and Receiving in a manufacturing environment.
EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent; and 4-5 years related experience and/or training in automotive; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Must have strong mathematical skills
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications as well as AS400 and Browser based ERP systems.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and process several abstract and concrete variables. Must be able to assess reasonableness of the analysis performed.

· Must have the flexibility to work extended hours or respond at irregular hours and times as needed
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid Driver’s License is required.
