Position Summary
The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) is seeking a creative and seasoned Senior Editor-Visuals & Design[BD1] to join our award-winning editorial team. This position will play a critical role in the visual presentation and branding of our publications, creating cohesive and visually engaging layouts that enhance the readability and overall experience of our editorial content. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in graphic design, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for creating visually appealing and brand-aligned layouts.
Responsibilities

Design HFMA publications, including magazines, reports, white papers and digital content.

Collaborate with editors, writers and other team members to develop creative concepts and design solutions.

Continue development of HFMA’s editorial brand guidelines and standards.

Create daily infographics, charts, and other visual elements to enhance the readability and reinforce the HFMA brand.

Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining high standards of quality and brand consistency.

Grow knowledge of industry trends and best practices to enhance effectiveness in editorial design and branding.

Provide input and support for digital content and social media graphics as needed, ensuring brand consistency across all platforms.

Collaborate and lead art direction with contract designers, photographers and illustrators.

Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency in all design work.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or equivalent work experience.

10+ years proven experience as an editorial designer, graphic designer or similar role with strong portfolio showcasing editorial design work, with a focus on branding.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).

Excellent understanding of typography, color theory and layout principles.

Experience in healthcare or finance industry preferred.
