The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care under the supervision of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and practice management to ensure comprehensive patient care. They assist in assessing patient needs, implementing care plans, and providing support to patients and their families.
Job Duties:
- Provide basic nursing care to patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications,
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and changes in condition.
- Exhibits the ability to collect, document and access data reflective of the patient’s status in the electronic medical record.
- Follow infection control protocols and ensure a safe and clean environment for patients.
- Shows caring and concern for all patients
- Demonstrates accuracy and completeness in charting documentation and billing for each visit including nurse visits.
- Demonstrates the ability to appropriately execute provider orders
- Set up and assist MD/NP/PA with office procedures.
- Demonstrates the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with providers, staff and Practice Management
- Supports practice goals and objectives
- Actively guards the confidentiality of sensitive information including but not limited to the patients, staff and the health system
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to maintain licensure and stay current on healthcare practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program and current LPN licensure.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, patient care principles, and infection control practices.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and adhering to ethical standards.
