Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Vascular Technologist to join our medical team. As a Vascular Technologist, you will be responsible for performing non-invasive vascular diagnostic procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with vascular diseases. This is a vital role in our healthcare facility, contributing to the overall patient care and treatment process.
Duties:
- Perform various non-invasive vascular diagnostic procedures, including but not limited to: arterial and venous duplex imaging, carotid duplex imaging, segmental pressure studies, vein mapping, abdominal vascular studies, and other as requested.
- Obtain patient medical history and explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and understanding.
- Prepare patients for procedures by positioning them correctly and applying appropriate monitoring devices.
- Operate ultrasound equipment to capture images of blood vessels and assess blood flow patterns.
- Analyze test results and provide accurate and detailed reports to physicians for further evaluation.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine appropriate treatment plans based on test results.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper documentation of procedures performed.
-Obtain authorizations for ultrasounds as required by the insurance companies.
- Make reminder appointment phone calls to patients on the ultrasound schedule.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique during procedures.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an AMA approved diagnostic medical sonography program or equivalent experience according to the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).
- Certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS). Certification is preferred or required within one year of hire date.
- Proficient knowledge of the vasculature system, vital signs, medical terminology, sonography, anatomy, physiology, aseptic technique, and diagnostic evaluation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret test results.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
