We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team as a CNC Process Engineer. This is a hands-on role where you will spend 60-80% of your time on the floor, actively engaging in job related tasks at the machining center such as developing and verifying programs. The remaining 20-40% of your time will be spent working from a desk, developing CNC process plans, or creating subprograms.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and document detailed CNC process plans, including step-by-step instructions, tooling requirements, and machining parameters as required. Identify risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Program, set up, and operate CNC machines in accordance with blueprints and customer specifications.
- Collaborate with production, quality, engineering teammates, and with customers to optimize tooling, manufacturing processes, assembly, and testing/inspections.
- Verify the completeness and accuracy of CNC programs.
- Revise programs as necessary to enhance efficiency and ensure quality.
- Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), First Article Inspection Report (FAI) and fixed processes.
- Manage and develop new products within the shop.
Education and Qualifications:
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
- Must be proficient in G-Code and M-Code with the ability to troubleshoot, edit, prove out processes, perform first piece runs, and recommend changes to programs on multi-axis machine tools proficiently.
- Experience with macro programing, CNC milling, CNC CBN & creep feed grinding.
- 3-5 years Process Tech or related engineering experience in aerospace and/or automotive preferred.
- Experience with aerospace and/or industrial gas turbine manufacturing.
- Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD & T).
- Strong Technical Communication.
- Project Management skills.
- Product support engineering.
- Excellent time management in the face of multiple time sensitive projects.
