Job Summary: The Material Handler is responsible for the efficient and accurate handling, storage, and distribution of materials and products within the facility. This role involves receiving, unloading, stocking, and distributing materials, supplies, and products, as well as creating bills of lading and ensuring the safe operation of forklifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Inspecting:
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments of raw materials, components, and products.
- Verify the accuracy of shipments against packing lists and purchase orders.
- Report and document any discrepancies or damaged items.
- Material Handling:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Transport materials and products to designated areas within the factory.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring the proper handling of materials to prevent damage.
- Storage and Organization:
- Store materials and products in designated locations, ensuring proper organization and labeling.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse or storage area.
- Implement and follow proper storage procedures to maximize space utilization
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient workflow and resolve any material handling issues.
- Provide support and assistance to other team members as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with bills of lading.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
