- This position begins with the start of the 2024-2025 school year. Interviews begin in August for a September start date.
- Looking for instructors for grades K-8 for the following specialties: Photography or technology (STEM), Theatre, Dance, Art, Sports, Videography.
- Work in a team environment; encourage open communication regarding concerns/issues with children, parents, and school staff, and use discussions to cultivate improvement.
- Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions and meet with the Education Specialist and Site Director on a regular basis.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with school staff, including school administration, teachers and other faculty members.
- Develop a 12-week activity lesson plan in the area(s) of specialty.
- Responsible for taking daily attendance at the beginning of class and submitting attendance at the end of the program day.
- Communicate with the Site Director to discuss general progress of the program immediately regarding incident/behavior reports on children or with staff concerns; relay pertinent information in a timely manner to all on-site support staff at your program.
- Effectively assist students in complying with emergency safety procedures appropriate to the site and in conformity with procedures adopted by emergency service authorities.
- Ensure that all supplies, equipment, and materials are being used in a safe and economical fashion.
- Maintain respectful usage of school property; ensure all school rules are being followed.
- Plan, design, and implement the final student performance with other teaching artists in a collaborative fashion.
- The Activity Specialists shall lead students toward accomplishing the following artistic benchmarks:
- Students will be given and learn a list of 35 artistic terms as part of your artistic glossary of terms, and learn the meaning of those terms within 12 weeks.
- Students will be able to articulate and present their project based learning via production.
- The students shall be able to present a final project that is at least 20 minutes in length that demonstrates and reflects the work of what the students have learned for each program cycle.
- Bachelors or associates degree preferred.
