Duties:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet the unique needs of each student
- Provide direct instruction to students in various subjects, including math and language arts
- Utilize learning technology and assistive devices to enhance student learning
- Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor student progress and provide ongoing assessment and feedback
- Implement behavior management strategies and maintain a safe and structured classroom environment
- Provide support for students with physical disabilities during physical education activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education for the State
- Knowledge of child development theories and best practices in special education
- Experience working with students with special needs, particularly in the areas of deaf education, early intervention, or childhood development
- Familiarity with learning technology and assistive devices used in special education settings
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff
- Ability to adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
- Experience with classroom management techniques to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
