What will your day look like? As a Strategic Merchandising Manager, you will:
- Develop, manage, and maintain effective multi-market agency partnerships to enhance the company’s competitive position at the store level.
- Source new selling opportunities to achieve or exceed sales plans while ensuring in-store excellence and product availability.
- Meet retailer and channel expectations without compromising established market channel strategies.
- Execute short and long-term strategic objectives that support brand positioning.
- Collaborate with category management and shopper marketing teams to execute go-to-market strategies and develop innovative POS and display solutions.
- Develop and track KPIs, synthesizing data across multiple third-party partners.
- Consistently achieve sales goals within allocated budget guidelines.
- Plan and execute annual resource allocation on a by-retailer, by-program basis.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the product portfolio to optimize in-store efforts and enable fact-based selling.
- Stay current with new product initiatives and support programs to leverage with top retailers.
- Identify and report competitive activity accurately and timely.
You will be a good fit as a Strategic Merchandising Manager if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Insert Technology Skills
- 5+ years in field sales merchandising.
- 3+ years in customer management across various retail channels (e.g., mass, drug, grocery).
- 3+ years in third-party management.
- Experience in category management and use of consumer and shopper insights.
Technology Requirements for a Strategic Merchandising Manager:
- Excellent verbal, written, and formal presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and fact-based selling skills.
- Proven ability to analyze and communicate actionable web data.
- Ability to develop accurate dynamic scheduling, considering the budget for optimized routing.
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 20%.
