Team Preschool Teacher
The Palm Valley School is located in Rancho Mirage, CA, in the heart of the beautiful Coachella Valley. We are a college-preparatory school that serves around 350 students in Preschool through Grade 12. The Palm Valley School is the only CAIS/NAIS Independent School in the Coachella Valley. We are seeking to hire a Lead Preschool Team Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year and beyond. We are looking for a qualified, enthusiastic teacher to fill in where needed between our Infant, Toddler, Preschool, and Prekindergarten classrooms.
Palm Valley Preschool provides a safe and nurturing environment in which children, guided and encouraged by a professional staff can delight in growing and learning. The team teacher will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of the curriculum in the classroom. The team teacher will follow the lead teacher’s lead as lessons and activities are presented. Palm Valley Preschool hours are from 7:30 am - 5:30 pm.
Skills/Requirements
- Proven experience as a Preschool Teacher
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- 12 core semester units in ECE (Child Development; Fundamentals of Children's Growth, Human Development; Child, Family, & Community or Child and Family Relations; Emergent Curriculum & Cultural Diversity; Literacy Through the Arts; School Age ) OR Child Development Associate Teacher Permit OR Teacher Permit. 3 units in an Infant/Toddler class is also requested but not required
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Fingerprinted/Background Check
