The U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB) is an independent federal agency charged with investigating and determining the cause or probable cause of industrial chemical incidents resulting from the accidental release of a regulated or extremely hazardous substance into the ambient air. The mission of the CSB is to drive chemical safety change through independent investigations to protect people and the environment. The Agency was created by the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990, and the CSB was first funded and commenced operations in 1998. The CSB’s core mission activities include conducting incident investigations; formulating preventive or mitigative recommendations based on investigation findings and advocating for their implementation; issuing reports containing the findings, conclusions, and recommendations arising from incident investigations; and conducting studies on chemical hazards
Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented Graphic Designer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating visual concepts to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate consumers.
Scope of work:
-The Contractor shall create graphics, illustrations, and schematics for CSB's written and visual products. Graphics can include both 3-D and 2-D depictions of technical subjects (e.g., chemical structures, molecules, equipment depictions, worker depictions, interior building depictions, etc.); process flow diagrams; and other types of graphics. The Contractor shall be able to create graphic depictions that are to-scale with real-world objects or equipment based on measurements provided by the CSB. Graphics must be high-quality and visually appealing.
Minimum Qualifications:
- The Contractor must possess at least 5 years of relevant, comparable experience related to copy editing and graphic design. Familiarity with CSB investigations-related work products is greatly preferred. Relevant professional certifications and qualifications, including academic degrees earned in appropriate fields of study (e.g., English, technical writing, journalism, graphic design, art, etc.), as well as other relevant skills held by employees that are to perform the scope of work, shall be included in the response to this performance work statement.
