At Center for Children, children’s mental health is our priority! We are Southern Maryland's leading organization dedicated to the prevention and treatment of child abuse and the promotion of positive mental and behavioral health through crisis intervention, therapy and education. Our outpatient clinic program is licensed by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and serves more than 4,500 individuals each year. This dynamic team of professionals provides individual and family therapy, play and group therapy, psychological testing and evaluations, mental health evaluations and more than 19 programs in six counties.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Therapists are responsible for providing quality therapeutic services through proper evaluations and treatment plans, and to ensure that the needs of the clients are met and maintained on an individual basis and in accordance with policies, procedures, and current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations This is a full-time exempt position, reporting to the Clinical Director and/or the Clinical Coordinator.
- Schedule – day shift, two or more evenings per week and Saturdays (per client need).
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a caseload of 26 children/adolescents per week, maintaining documentation and records in a timely, responsible, legal, and ethical manner.
- Provide clinical evaluations in cases where abuse has not yet been determined.
- Provide support and educational groups to parents on as needed basis.
- Coordinate services with other agencies per client needs.
- Follow state child abuse reporting guidelines
- Testify in court and/or other legal proceedings on behalf of the child client upon order of the court and when privilege is waived. May include writing letters and reports to the court.
- Assist in the training of volunteers and other community professionals.
- Attend multi-disciplinary team, supervision, clinical Team and general staff meetings.
- Maintain and advance clinical skills through training opportunities and professional in-service training as the budget allows.
REQUIREMENTS
- Maryland (MD) State Licensure (LGPC, LCPC-C, LMSW, LCSW-C).
- Obtain and maintain professional liability insurance.
- Successfully complete State and Federal background investigation and drug test.
- Experience counseling/working with children ages 0 to 12
- Understanding of cultural diversity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
