The Division of Mental Health is seeking to hire a Support Service Coordinator I for the Madden Mental Health Center located in Hines, Illinois to monitor and direct dietary support staff on an assigned shift in assigned areas, cleaning equipment and serving food. Prepares weekly delivery schedules of perishable supplies. Serves as designated lead worker. Cooks and prepares food, serves meals to patients.

Determines daily food requirements and requisitions food from general storeroom.

In the absence of a cook, cooks and prepares food for patients.

Serves meals to patients, assisting them in their selection of food choices, adhering to prescribed diets and using portion control techniques.

Enforces Illinois Department of Public Health Sanitation and Safety Regulations to verify the safety of food served to patients and staff.

Attends and participates in all mandatory training.

Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of High School.
- Requires two (2) years of experience, such as could be gained at the Support Service Provider level in one of the support service functional areas to which assigned.

Requires the ability to obtain a valid Food Service Sanitation Certificate issued by the Illinois Department of Public Health or a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) certification from a program accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Conference for Food Protection (CFP) within 30 days of employment.
- Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
- Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.

Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
