Job Overview
The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the sales activities within a designated region. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of driving sales growth, building strong client relationships, and managing a high-performing sales team. The successful candidate will develop and implement sales strategies, monitor market trends, and ensure that sales targets are met or exceeded.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Covers an assigned Region to work with large, medium, and small manufacturers of metal products.
a. Represents all of Nitrex HTS facilities capable of assisting customer with heat treatment services.
b. Interfaces with Inside Sales and Plant Management to quote opportunities.
c. Diligently follows up on quotes and opportunities, maintains CRM (Hubspot) reporting system and uses software tools to assist in closing opportunities.
d. Is the face of Nitrex to customers in region and resolves any customer service/plant processing issues.
e. Travels to customers in region, as well as overnight visits. Customers/Prospects need seen at every opportunity. 30-50% travel is required.
2. Identify cross-sell opportunities by Process and by Nitrex Plant location during customer contacts/interactions. Fully understand customer outsourcing of heat treating at all their locations within territory.
a. Understand the best method and equipment at each Nitrex facility to process customer parts.
b. Involve plant management, process experts, and sales management as required to support customer needs.
3. Comply with all Quality System procedures/requirements (i.e. Quotes, PO’s), with understanding of automotive CQI-9 and Nadcap aerospace requirements, and AMS and customer specific requirements.
4. Assist in the development and implementation of marketing and sales plans.
a. Reinforce Nitrex as THE expert in gas nitriding and a leader in Heat Treat processing competence.
b. Continually push Nitrex as more than a regional source, but as a global resource.
5. Develop plans and strategies to attract new business customers and maintain present customers.
a. Assist in evaluating sales efforts and marketing strategies.
6. Responsible for building new business relationships, developing new customers, and maintaining existing business while ensuring Nitrex is meeting their heat-treating needs.
7. Provide Support/Quotes/Proposals to customers regarding Processes and Services offered by Nitrex.
a. Provide customers with verbal & written quotes and time estimates when requested.
b. Prepare and hold presentations with respect to Nitrex at every opportunity.
c. Participate in competitive processing cost analysis and assist with quoting strategy and standard price lists.
8. Maintain confidentiality of Customer Account information.
9. Communicate with all levels of Nitrex Management to ensure the resources needed to process the job are available and timely processing of all jobs.
10. Seek opportunities for business expansion and new potential markets.
- Communicate and engage with professionals at all levels. Continually increase heat treating process IQ through self-education, engaging Nitrex process experts and participating in industry education opportunties.
- Spend regular time in Nitrex plant facility to understand equipment, processes, people, challenges, and opportunities for assigned customer base.
- Utilize a computer, Microsoft Office software, as well as on-line activities / networking.
Required Education, Skills, Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree preferred, in technical field (Metallurgy, Materials Science or similar is a plus)
· 5 years relevant work experience in sales, business development or a related role (preferably in heat-treating or relevant industry)
· Strong understanding of market dynamics and industry trends.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
· Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and partners.
· Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical and mental readiness for business travel
· Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Valid driver’s license and passport
