Responsible for supervising the production and assembly of personal care products that meet and exceed the leading industry standards.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Oversee and manage day-to-day operational flow of production lines.
- Supervise Line Leads, Coordinators, Production Associates, temporary employees, and Mechanics.
- Monitor and notify Scheduler and Sales of any changes to the Fill Schedule.
- Track and maintain budget adherence.
- Track and Maintain Schedule adherence and achievement.
- Monitor and track all important KPIs set by the company and/or upper management.
- Oversee head count allocation to ensure lines are staffed accordingly.
- Provide key information on new product launches as they relate to production.
- Work with Compounding and Scheduling to ensure all production goals are met.
- Understand how to quote a potential production run as it pertains to selection of line, labor, speed (ppm), and daily output.
- Responsible for the safety and well-being of everyone on the production floor.
- Assist Production Manager as needed.
- Provide a clean, safe, injury-free work environment while ensuring production quality, on-time product delivery, identify and employ cost-saving measures, and implementation of lean manufacturing methods through proper training of personnel and follow-up of all delegated tasks.
Technical Skills Required
- Ability to learn and navigate an MRP/ERP system.
- Knowledge of KPIs as they relate to industry standards.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
- Ability to think quickly and make decisions while considering all internal and external customers’ requirements.
- Great communication skills with all levels of employees and management.
- Ability to lead and motivate a Team of Leads, Coordinators, Production Associates, temporary employees, and Mechanics to achieve daily, monthly, and yearly goals.
- Understanding of how to read and navigate an open order report.
- Bachelor’s degree or 3 to 5 years of experience is preferred.
- Three years of experience managing a large group in a production/assembly work environment.
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to move, transport and position objects up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to read labels that could contain small fonts.
- Must be able to perceive and identify colors.
- Must be able to bend, kneel, squat, and stretch.
- While performing the duties of the job, employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
- May be exposed to loud noise when assembly machines are running.
- May be required to ascend and descend ladders and/or stairs.
- May be exposed to repetitive motions (making substantial movements/motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers).
